Luo Nationalism, Ideological Study

Modern Chinese Nationalism is a kind of educational ideology which corresponds with Chinese Politics Salvation. It is also the proposition which emerged during the process of modern Chinese intellectuals pursuit ways on saving our nations through education. Among those exploration and practices of nationalism, Luo Jialun had dominated an important position after the May Fourth Movement.The main contents of this paper are as follows:Firstly, Luo Jialun's educational ideology is inseparable from the affection of western nationalism educational ideology and Chinese traditional ideology of education. It is formed on the basis of his deep and profound reflections on the current situation of Chinese education and the relationship between nationalism and education.Secondly, Luo Jialun had been served as the chief education officer of Party School of the CPC, the first president of National Tsing Hua University, president of National Central University and so on. During his management, he took nationalism ideology into curriculum reform. And he made the nationalism ideology can be carried out and implemented through the General Education, Perfect Character Education and National Cultural Education.The third main content of this paper is characteristics analyzing of Luo Jialun's nationalism educational ideology. The significant characteristic of Luo Jialun's nationalism educational ideology is cultivating the "nationalism". He made the youth as the target for cultivating and universities as the main positions for propagating nationalism.Based on the relevant research of nationalism educational ideology, this paper tries to make up the deficiencies of current studies on Luo Jialun's educational ideology and makes a great contribution for further researches.
