As a classic university concept and a personnel training mode,general education takes human beings' free development and personality formation as its fundamental starting point.After the 21st century education reform,Japan has made tremendous adjustments and mass changes in terms of higher education,achieving remarkable success.The reform of general education is the most representative one among those changes.Although Chinese general education falls far behind Japan's,Chinese universities are trying to find their own development routes gradually.Therefore,it is very necessary and meaningful for us to absorb Japanese experience regarding general education,which are suitable for our country's general education development.This thesis mainly uses the literature analysis method,the comparative research method and the case analysis method,selects the representative national universities in Japan as the case,takes the general education curriculum as the research object,analyzes the characteristics of each general education.Then on the basis of expounding the development history of general education in Japanese universities,some experiences of general education curriculum in national universities are summarized.Finally,combined with the hot issue of "Double First-Class"construction,it is hoped that general education,as a part of undergraduate construction,can be attached importance to and better serve for talent cultivation.The university of Tokyo and the university of Kyoto are the highest level universities in Japan in all aspects.As the typical representatives of universities of science and engineering and comprehensive universities,the university of Tokyo and the university of Hiroshima have their own strengths and distinctive general education courses.The author sorts out and analyzes the origin and idea of the curriculum reform of general education,the mode and content of the curriculum of general education,and the implementing institution of general education.The study found that universities should establish a clear,accurate and scientific talent training system when formulating general education curriculum,attach importance to undergraduate education,and promote curriculum reform,so as to find the right remedy.The remarkable effect of the general education reform in Japanese national university largely depends on the fact that the reform conforms to the situation at that time.Based on the reality of the policy is conducive to the development of universities and society,Japan has gradually explored the path of general education localization.In terms of general education curriculum setting,Chinese colleges and universities can try to learn from the following aspects:clearly positioning the general education concept,constructing a complete general education curriculum system,and strengthening the management of the implementation institutions of general education curriculum.
