In the West, people use a special symbol to indicate the book's title, and reflects their love, cherish of their books, this is the bookplate. Bookplate originated in the fifteenth century Germany. Prevalent in the eighteenth century. After World War II to contemporary era, creation and collection of bookplates worldwidely entered a new peak.This thesis is inspired by Walter Benjamin's famous concept "aura", to reveal the unique characteristics and charm of bookplate, which is quote a unique form of art , explained why the call it has this"never fade away 'aura'" . This thesis particularly combined the experience of the auther who is major in engraving.
