| As the soul of human civilization, poetry boasts a long history, as well as its appreciative teaching, which plays a decisive part in maintaining cultural continuity and spreading aesthetic value. However, China's poetry teaching in high school has to call for more attention after people's cautious reflection, because it is common to teach poetry as other genre, that is to neglect poetry in teaching.Aiming to change such a situation, this thesis stands the position of close reading in the critical theory of western poetry. Its major idea is to leave poetry in its own language system that is poetic style, meanwhile, to borrow the four expressive methods of poetic language in western poetry teaching in order to fully and meticulously perceive the sense. In China's poetry studying and criticizing fields, introduction of the close reading, reestablishment of the poetry text as the central and employment of the four expressive methods of poetic language have enjoyed a sound development. Therefore, it is feasible to take them in high school's poetry appreciative teaching. This puts emphases on a thorough analysis on poetic languages, a intensive identification of poetry's stylistic features and a complete perception of the poetry's sense. In this way can the imprecise ways of criticizing and interpreting poetry through social and historical perspectives have a complete change, and can the students be lead into the real poetry appreciation.Poetry close reading is a new approach. This thesis takes two poems as examples to show the processes and the effects through close reading. |
