With the beginning of 21st century, college students who grew up in a rapidly developing economy were called the post-80s or post-90s. It has been observed that these young people were greatly different from the previous generations in terms of their value system, resulting in some thoughts and behaviors that sometimes surprise or even irritates the society. Therefore, they are also given the name "the beat generation" who are "incapable of building China's future", or even "three-without-products" which means they are unqualified products from universities who features boredom, carelessness and whimsicality.However, after the occurrence of some recent events, especially the May 12th Wenchuan earthquake and Beijing Olympics in 2008, and Shanghai Expo in 2010, there has been an increasing awareness of the excellence and nobility in the so-called post 80s and post-90s. As a result, it is important to preserve their excellence and at the same time find out the problems they are facing, in order to shape their outlook with noble ideas through proper guidance as well as ideological and political education.According to the survey carried out by the author, "trendiness" and "popularity' are two major characteristics of fashion that are appealing to young college students, who are in a stage of shaping their outlook. It is indicated in the survey that fashion exerts great influence on the outlook of college students.This paper, divided into four chapters, explains the influence of fashion on the outlook of college students and analyzes the current situation, with an attempt to give the correct guidance for them to consider fashion in a sensible way and build up the correct outlook. Chapter 1 is the analysis of fashion through the definitions and characteristics the fashionable culture. Chapter 2 explores the various aspects of values, especially the multi-cultural values in the current society, aiming to illustrate the relationship between fashion and world outlook. Chapter 3 is devoted to the description of the influence of fashion on the world outlook of college students, with analysis on the different forms of fashion on college students who are experiencing the formation of their outlook. Chapter 4 provides guidance for university students to treat fashion with rationality and build up the correct outlook.
