With the basic education curriculum reform and implementation of new chemistry curriculum, teaching activities of science department not only take fostering scientific literacy and all-round development of students as the goals, but also pay attention to the abilities to learn themselves. This requires us to innovate as for learning objectives, learning content, learning methods and learning evaluation, to exploring new teaching methods and learning models.Since the Concept Map was put forward by Novak in the 1960s, it has been the focus of international education theoretical. Concept map can display meaningful concept links as form as scientific proposition, which is one kind of spatial network structure. It are used to check, amend and perfect knowledge as a graphical representation of cognitive thinking process tools, can reveal the essence of meaning construction, also help students to solve problem. Study found that concept mapping is used as the study of chemistry in developing independent learning ability is very few. To this end, I choose high school students in developing concept maps of chemical self-learning ability as the research topic.In this study, we will discuss both theoretical and practical levels.In theory, I analyze the present status of self-learning and concept maps through document research and reference the existing research results in order to find that lack of orientation for my research position. Research try to establish the link between concept map and self-learning in teaching and learning theory and analysis the operability and method of instruction of the union between them.In practice, as the research content in chemistry discipline, I choose two parallel classes of senior high school in Qingtongxia city of Ningxia, and take the amount of research and a combination of qualitative research methods. First of all, understand the status of self-learning, which is the basis to carry out independent learning strategies. Secondly, exploring the chemical concept map teaching strategies implemented under the independent study of theory and practice, taking experiment study in high school. After one semester, the results show:we can carry out chemistry self-learning in high school under the concept mapping strategy. To some extent it can improve student learning ability in study habits and learning methods, especially in field dependence-based self-learning ability of students. Concept map of learning effect requires long-term practice can only show its advantages, so teachers should guide students to continue to strengthen and hold the good study habits and ultimately to achieve effective chemical study.
