"Second Period Curriculum Reform" has entered an in-depth development of a new stage in primary and secondary schools in Shanghai. In the New Curriculum Standards process and method have been defined one of the three-dimensional goals of the curriculum, and it also fully identifies the importance of process teaching in physics teaching. This has prompted the physics teachers to be more process-oriented teaching in the future's teaching, and guided the students to experience and understand the process and methods of inquiry, so that the minds of students in physics can go back to basics, and truly understand the essence of physics science. In this paper, both theoretical and practical aspects of physics process teaching have been systematically explored in junior school .This paper consists of five parts. The first part analyzes the background of study of physics process teaching in junior school. The second part describes the theoretical foundation of the physics process teaching in junior school, and determines the guiding position of constructivist theory in the process of physics teaching. The definition and characteristics of physics process teaching are also summarized. Part three analyzes the function of physics process teaching in junior school, so that teachers obtain a deeper understanding. The fourth part tries to explore the practice application of physics process teaching in junior school, hoping to provide a reference for the front-line physics teachers. The last part gives an analysis of problems in physics process teaching in the current junior school and proposes solutions to these problems.
