Nowadays, young teachers are the dominant force of front-line teaching incollege, and play critical roles in the process of cultivating undergraduates to beuseful person. As the saying goes,“Example is better than precept”. Theteachers’ good professional image provides a strong demonstration effect, andcan effectively promote the raise of students’ comprehensive quality, and itbenefits to cultivate qualified successors to the future of our country, which iswhat we often say that the force of our example. On the contrary, if highprofessional level but immoral and low-quality people are introduced in thecollege, it will mislead and bring continuous harm to the students. Therefore,strengthening the ethic construction of young teachers and improving theirimage are of great significance.With the further development of higher education, the training mode oftalents and the constitution of teaching staff have definitely changed. Accordingto the statistics by the Ministry of Education, the proportion of young teachersin college teacher team has more than half, and is increasing year by year.Young university teachers as a whole are a team which has greater ability ofteaching, higher performance, correct morality and full of life. They play theindispensable roles in the university education and teaching work.But we have to realize that, due to the influence of many factors, someyoung teachers’ philosophy, view of value and their world view have beendistorted and the problem of professional image arises. It represents externallythat speech and behavior, clothing and make-up, and that sort of thing don’tquite match with teachers’ identity, forgetting that the body image is anembodiment of their professional ethics and magnetic personality. It representsinternally the problem of professional ethics existed in individual youngteachers, such as utilitarian thought, lacking of professional spirit andprofessional behavior without normal, etc. The cause of these issues owing tothe three major aspects, first, someone ignores the enhancement ofself-improvement; second, some universities have omissions in management and system, failed in two hands to grasp and two hands to all want hard, i.e.,they more emphasis on intellectual training than on virtue; third, multi-cultureand social changes bring a lasting impact.To solve the reality that some young teachers’ bad self-appearance causedby poor ethics will do harm to the result of their teaching and cultivate qualifiedsuccessors for the construction of country, this paper starts with the question ofhow to improve the young teachers’ professional image. Based on thoroughanalysis and demonstration, it holds an in-depth discussion on how the youngteachers’ overall image combining inner and outer is made, and puts forward thecountermeasure of making young teacher’ good image, i.e., moulding strategiesfor internal image: strengthening the active construction of young teachers’professional morality, and constructing the long-lasting mechanism and creatingthe good atmosphere for professional moral construction, as well as themoulding strategies for external image of paying attention to the exteriorizationof interior image. The aim is that provide the unexhausted power for thescientific, healthy and continuing development of the higher education in ourcountry.
