Research On The Regional Economic Development Of Local Colleges And Universities

The rise and development of knowledge economy,has brought a deeper conversion on economic development.At first, the social production and the distribution of wealth relied on resources,but now they rely on knowledge.Now,the higher education has a rapid development and the local colleges and universities have become an important part of it,at the same time the local colleges and universities have assumed most of the task of higher education.Local colleges and universities across the country have created many practical forms and service models after they learned from local colleges and universities in other countries.The local colleges and universities have a lot of function such as scientific research,personnel training,social services and educational investment,which is bound to affect the region’s economic development.The discussion about the effect which the local colleges and universities having on regional economic development,will have an import significance on positioning of local universities,providing better service on the regional economy and enhancing their own development.The paper makes Qingdao University as an example,first,describes the background and significance of the study,research status in and out of the country and discusses the ideas and content of the study;Secondly,this paper defines the concept associated with the content and analyzes the basic experience and process of domestic and foreign local colleges and universities serving the evolution of the regional economy;again,through analysising the specific measures which the Qingdao University served on Qingdao and the Qingdao’s economic development,defined the role of local colleges and universities in the process of regional economic development;finally,gives corresponding countermeasures and suggestions based on analysis of the actual situation,such as,accurate positioning and choosing appropriate mode of service;adjusting professional structure and adapting to local economic development;in order to provide intellectual support and technical services for the regional economic development,we should actively work on scientific research;Providing technology services to small and medium enterprises and township enterprises;serving for the construction of a new socialist countryside.
