American school social studies curriculum has more than100years of history, the curriculum is mature and has a rich theory as the academic foundation, always has accumulated rich experience in social science theory and practice.While NCSS also launched a national curriculum standards for social studies:the1994edition of the "curriculum standards for social studies:excellent expectations" and the2010edition of the "curriculum standards for social studies: teaching, learning, assessment framework".The two version of the standard is the use of "Thematic Strands" as the basic framework, the integration of anthropology, archaeology, economics, geography, history, law, philosophy, political science, psychology, religious studies and social science, and Humanities and Natural Science in the appropriate content.94years of "curriculum standards for social studies:excellence" is expected American course history of the first national curriculum standards for social studies, it not only reflects the current status of social science American some development, but also affect the development of Social Science in the future American, even had an important influence on the formulation of many countries and regions the world of social science curriculum standard.Since the America Association of Social Science in1994promulgated the first curriculum standards for social studies, social studies curriculum standards have been widely used in schools, teachers, regional, state as a framework, as well as the tool of other countries use it as a course orientation and development.However, since the enactment of the curriculum standards for social studies, in this world and education have too big change, the social studies curriculum standards must make corresponding changes to deal with the new changes in twenty-first Century-"curriculum standards for social studies: teaching, learning, assessment framework" came into being.The revised standards continue to be structured around the ten themes of social studies, but offer new sections that provide a sharper focus on:Purposes, Questions for Exploration,Knowledge:what learners need to understand,Processes:what learners will be capable of doing; and Products:how learners demonstrate understanding.The five problem is to show the rich content of ten major themes in the new curriculum standards, this is the first significant changes in the new standards.At the same time, the new standard can help students construct knowledge, enhance the quality of citizens, improve the academic accomplishment, this is to prepare students for University, the cause of civil rights and the best framework.And to social science educators, put forward to use national standards to guide the state standards, so as to help students to better cope with the challenges of the twenty-first Century. So the students to enhance the academic accomplishment and social science educators use national standards to guide the state standards has become a significant change of second new standard...
