With the basic education reform of China developed deeply, social studies education reform has made fruitful achievements. As the milestones of social studies curriculum reform, Morality and society curriculum standards of China’s Compulsory education (2011) have been published. With the Research methods of literature and comparison have been used.social studies curriculum Standards of China and Ontario have been compared.The aspects of the social studies curriculum evolution、The frame structure of the curriculum standard、curriculum objective、curriculum content have been compared and analyzed.Conclusions are drawn as follows:In the background, China is based on the backdrop of the development of basic education curriculum reform and to develop a series of social studies curriculum standards; while Canada is based on Civic qualities in students, Combined with national conditions, began to focus on the development of social studies curriculum and to develop relevant curriculum standards. Social Studies curriculum development process in both countries, are affected by the United States and have similar academic foundation.The basic framework of the curriculum standard aspect, the two countries have a quite different system, which reflects the various design concept. By contrast, the frame structure of Chinese curriculum standard is more clearly, but the framework of Canadian curriculum standard can reflect more global concept of Education.The curriculum purpose aspect, Two social studies curriculum content and objectives are different presentation, whether it is "overall objective" or "targets", have a certain degree of similarity, such as emphasized emotional and social development of students, and to be a qualified citizen should have the aspects of quality attention.The curriculum content aspect, Sino-Canadian’s social studies curriculum standards are introduced from six different themes shaft.and Canada Social Studies curriculum is divided from a different school year, due to the different division based social curriculum is also showing different characteristics. By contrast, Canadian social studies curriculum standards focus more on disciplinary thinking, pay more attention to environmental education for students, cultivate good habits of students to care for the environment.By comparison, the primary school social studies curriculum standards have similarities and differences in every aspect between China and Canada. At the same time, research on these similarities and differences, has the following implications for perfecting our country’s primary school social studies curriculum standard:Emphasis on social studies curriculum standards unique value, rich social studies curriculum resources; combined with the development of the times, to communicate the intrinsic link elementary social studies curriculum and other subjects between courses; use various evaluation methods to assess student, pay attention to other aspects of physical and mental development of students; Emphasis on individual attention to children with special needs, focus on personality development of children.
