China witnesses rapid development of urbanization with the implementing measures of Reform and Opening-up policy. As a result of that, numerous job-hunting people have been migrating to metropolises. From the perspective of the next generation of the new migration, their education situation becomes a social focus. Thus a new word came up for the Next Generation of the new Migration: NGM.NGMs left their native place and came all the way to the new city along with their parents. Their socialization is faced by many problems. These teenager NGMs tend to choose friends based on their background. Having faced to an unfamiliar environment, NGMs usually have the same experience; common hobby; similar emotion and shared value system, all of which bring them together and become a peer group. The NGM peer group is an objective existence and affects NGMs’ socialization through group member’s daily activities.T Junior High School, a public school being located in Jianshan District, has a high percentage of NGM students. This essay takes T Junior High School as an example to illustrate the relationship between NGM’s socilaization and their peer groups through analysing affection that peer groups have done to every single member. This essay aims to raise recommendations to the current education situation of NGM by providing a better educational environment and eventually improving the socialization of NGM.This essay divides target NGMs into three catalogues:local students in mixed class; NGM students in mixed class; NGM students in NGM class(Teachers call NGMs of students from province). The proportion of NGM in the mixed class is approximately1/3; while national class contains NGMs only. The target NGMs for this essay is NGMs in the mixed class and NGMs in NGM class, meanwhile local students in the mixed class are considered benchmark.360effective questionnaires and10interviews have been received. This essay embraces seven elements:living skills; sex role; academic achievements; sociability; moral character; self-awareness and psychological quality. The research analysis applied in this essay is comparison between NGMs in two classes with benchmark; comparison between girls and boys in target NGMs and results from interviews are considered study resource. This essay illustrates types of NGMs, describes their socialization, points out characters of NGM peer groups and analyses the affection of NGM peer groupsConclusions drawn from the research:The NGMs in NGM class gain a negative image compared with NGMs in mixed class in academic achievements; moral character and self-awareness. Meanwhile, there is a tendency towards bad students in NGM class, the characteristics of some NGMs in NGM class are late coming; stealing other student’s property; failing in his or her exams and bullying of other students. With these problems arisen, what the school did is extremely limited since students are judged by their academic achievements, no matter good or bad, tending to be ignored. Thus these problems become worse and worse with no measures implemented by school.This essay presents below recommendations from the perspective of society, school environment and teacher:keeping the right guidance of public opinions towards NGMs; establishing positive school culture; building up harmonious relationship between teachers and students; and putting emphasis on leaders of NGM peer groups. Through what mentioned above, positive affections would be encouraged within the NGM peer groups and NGMs’growth environment would be improved...
