Influences Of Peer Group On The Socialization Of College Students And Its Countermeasures

Man's socialization is throughout his entire life cycle and its contents as well as its tasks are different in the different stages. College is both the crucial period for the socialization of college students and the transition to the full "social man". As one of the important environmental factors in college students' life and study, peer group plays a very important role in their socialization. On the one hand, peer group has a positive impact on the socialization of college students: which can meet the needs of students' emotional communications and attribution; can promote students' interests in study and the development of their interests; can enhance students' enthusiasm to share their life feelings and social information; can foster students' understanding and their responsibility of their social role; can assist them in building up team work awareness and improve their adaptability to the environment. On the other hand, peer group also has a negative impact on the socialization of college students: unhealthy subculture from the peer groups hindered the process of the socialization of college students and unhealthy values and behaviors disposition from the peer group are also not favorable for the socialization of college students.On the basis of a general overview of the revenant content of both peer group and socialization of college students, this paper, by way of the methods of research on literature and research on logic, makes an in-depth analysis of the status and role peer groups played in the process of the socialization of college students from different perspectives like sociology, education as well as psychology; expounds the influence of peer group on the socialization in the aspects of college students' notion, psychological quality and manners. And then, the author, from the perspective of education on peer groups, has the college life divided into three phases in accordance with colleges' teaching arrangements and the process of college students' socialization; summarizes the different tasks of socialization in these three phases and in which some typical socialization problems are also pointed out.To facilitate the research stage, the author has the university students socialized process divided into three stages based on the university college education and summarized different socialized tasks some typical socialized problems in these three stages. The first stage ( freshman ) the main socialized task is the university students'adaptation to the new learning environment. The second stage is the primary problem.( the second and third grade ) primary socialized task is a system of the course of study, college students learn to focus the offset is the most important question ; the third stage ( university ) mainly refers to the social work: to make preparation for the employment; the greatest trouble for the university students in this stage is the employment pressure and emotional stress. On the basis of a general overview of the revenant content of both peer group and socialization of college students, this paper, by way of the platform of ideological and political education, makes an in-depth analysis of the status and role peer groups played in the process of the socialization of college students from the perspectives of peer group; provides target-oriented counter measures against the problems happened in the process of college students'socialization. And this dissertation also provides the effective theoretical basis as well as the practical reference for college teaching staff to formulate and improve the education scheme of the socialization of college students.
