Research On Current Situation And Countermeasures Of Volleyball General Examination In Physical Education Major Of Colleges And Universities In Shandong Province

Promoting advanced physical education is a very important link in higher education,whose teaching quality has a close relationship with the physical and mental development ofboth P.E. teachers and students. Moreover, physical education in colleges and universities is astage which aims at cultivating talents and competent teachers for schools. Therefore, it is theresponsibility to improve the professional quality of students majoring in physical education inorder to cultivate qualified school teachersThe volleyball course for P.E. majors is a required one which should conform to theGeneral Volleyball Teaching Syllabus. Moreover, the physical education major students are notonly asked to grasp the professional knowledge and skills, but they also have to develop theability to guide students’ learning. Examination, a most commonly-used evaluation approach,plays an significant role in both reflecting students’ professional quality and promoting schoolphysical education to an advanced level.The paper attempts to study the volleyball course for P.E. majors of Shandong Province,whose purpose is to provide theoretical foundations and reference for how to conduct volleyballcourse for P.E. majors in colleges or universities. The author has applied the research methods ofliterature review, interview, and questionnaire to study the current situation of volleyball coursefor P.E. majors. The author has found that there exist several deficiencies of volleyball teachingfor P.E. teachers in Shandong Province. Firstly, the number of volleyball course is decreasedsharply and the time is relevantly short. Secondly, the teaching materials are too mussy and theteaching contents are of various level in quality. Finally, there are some problems as to theteaching and learning evaluations, such as the evaluation methods, contents and system.Based on the deficiencies of volleyball teaching in school, the author has put forward thefollowing suggestions:(1) Much attention must be attached to volleyball teaching for P.E. majors,and the number of lessons ought to be increased as well;(2) Make a reasonable arrangement ofhow to carry out volleyball teaching;(3) Perfect the teaching assessment approaches;(4) Breakthe traditional evaluation method and welcome various methods;(5) Pay attention to learners’formative assessment;(6) Enrich and perfect the assessment system.
