The guiding principles of the New English Curriculum for Junior School are as follows:Teaching should be caterd to different needs of students; Teaching should be student-centered; Students should be involved in classroom activities; We should care about students’affective development; We should pay attention to formative evaluation. The Standards of English Curriculum on Compulsory Education (edition of2011) stressed that "The general objectives of English courses during the compulsory education are: Students should be able to develop a basic comprehensive application ability of language by learning English; English learning should promote students’intellectual development and improve their comprehensive humanistic qualities."However, the drawbacks of traditional English teaching model focused on testing have become increasingly prominent. The drawbacks mainly include the neglecting of cultivating students’ comprehensive ability of English and developing students’subjectivity. Therefore, it is imperative to explore the reform of English teaching model in Junior School. This thesis is trying to solve the following problems by studying classroom interactive teaching model which is applied to English teaching in two Grade Eight classes:(1) What are the main types of classroom interaction in Junior School now?(2) Can this model really promote students’participation in classroom interaction and promote students’interest and initiative of learning English in the practical teaching?(3) What’s the relation between this interactive teaching model and students’academic performance and their comprehensive application ability of language? On the basis of the theory of philosophy, the theory of psychology, the theory of Interaction Hypothesis and the theory of constructivism learning, this thesis analyzes the English classroom interaction in two classes of Grade Eight. This thesis uses the questionnaires and classroom experiments to investigate and collect data. After researching, we have found:the current type of classroom interaction is teacher-student interaction;the interactive teaching model in Junior English classroom can stimulate students’ interest in learning English so that students take part in the classroom interaction more initiatively and students have stronger learning initiative; It not only improves students’ academic performance in English, but also improves students’ comprehensive application ability of language by applying interactive teaching model. In view of these findings, the author summarizes the following teaching implications:First, teachers should create interactive situations to mobilize the enthusiasm of students’engagement;Secondly, teachers should encourage students to participate in classroom interaction on the basis of previewing lessons;Thirdly, the types of classroom interaction should be diversified.Fourthly, teachers must have advanced ideas of curriculum and highlight the students’ subjectivity in the classroom to achieve emotional communication and exchanges with students.
