The university entrance examination is the unique system in our country, as a nationalexamination, it attracted widespread attention of the whole society. The university entranceexamination is related to the whole education system and even the country’s political andeconomic development in our country, have always been the important theory and practice ofeducation system and the society. Since the recovery of the national university entranceexamination in1977, the examination has experienced changes for37years. With thetransformation of our country’s basic national condition, and the arrival of market economysystem, university entrance examination has experienced many reforms. Therefore the studyof the university entrance examination has been never interrupt. But, through retrieval andsummarized of literature, we found there has a certain gap in the hotspot domains and frontiertopics study of university entrance examination.By drawing the knowledge mapping of university entrance examination literature from2000-2013by information visualization software named CiteSpace, to detected the researchhotspot domains, frontier topics and academic group analysis. There are six chapters in thepaper. Chapter1mainly introduces an overview of the research on the university entranceexamination. Put forward the research significance in the field of the university entranceexamination, from its value in itself and in employment. At the same time, to have anoverview of study on university entrance examination hotspot domains, frontier topics,academic group and CiteSpace software from former literature. Chapter2is data sourceintroduce and process steps. Through data analysis map simple introduces the whole processof data processing in this paper. Chapter3is the hotspot domains research of universityentrance examination. We have detected the research hotspot domains of university entranceexamination which include the reform of university entrance examination, university entranceexamination system, the equality of education, the test of university entrance examination,based on the result of CiteSpace. At the same time, we have introduced the research of theabove four aspects’ status, content and hot topics by the secondary literature retrieval andsummarized. Chapter4is the analysis of the frontier topics in university entrance examination.According to the result of CiteSpace is divided into the stronger research fronts, the weakerresearch fronts and the emerging research fronts. The stronger research fronts are about the equality of education, university entrance examination immigrants and university entranceexamination system. The weaker research fronts include university entrance comprehensiveexamination, combination of integrated science, combination of liberal arts, topic compositionand adult university entrance examination. The emerging research fronts are about admissionand examination of university, university entrance immigration and migrant staff. Chapter5isabout academic group analysis of university entrance examination. The study includes thestatistics of the literature institution and information visualization of the academic group. Theinstitutions of the literature are mainly from normal universities. The academic groupinformation visualization analysis is divided into four main academic groups. Chapter6is thesummary of this paper. There are three mainly conclusions of this paper, based on theresearch of the hotspot domains, frontier topics and academic group analysis in universityentrance examination.
