Teaching reflection is teachers’ rethink and recognition of their teaching practice. It isan effective way of improving teachers’ professional capacity and the level of education andteaching. Through reflecting, teachers could conclude the advantages and disadvantages oftheir teaching practice, and then find out methods of improving their shortcomings, whichcould help ensure high quality and high efficiency of teaching. These years, the studies aboutteaching reflection have been more and more and mostly focus on what teachers shouldreflect and how to reflect. In our country, the curriculum reform which began from2001alsoput forward new requirements for teachers’ teaching reflection. It said teachers should reflectteaching contents, teaching methods, students’ development and their own development andso on. Without teaching reflection, neither teachers’ professional quality nor students’comprehensive quality could be ensured. The improvement of our country’s teaching qualitycannot come true without effective teaching reflection. However, the current situation ofteachers’ teaching reflection in our country is not satisfying. Therefore, it is necessary to do aresearch on it and propose strategies to improve it.This research was carried on from six aspects, which were teachers’ awareness, contents,level, methods, growth stages and tendency of teaching reflection. And the questionnaire wasformed according to the six aspects. The author took advantage of three research methods:documentary method, questionnaire method and interviewing method. The research object ofquestionnaire research was high school teachers, from which the author also chose two tointerview, so as to get further understanding.The full text consists of six parts. The first part elaborated the background, significance,and the theoretical basis of the research. The second part introduced the domestic andoverseas research status of teaching reflection. On the basis of previous research, the authordefined the definition of teaching reflection and other related definitions of this research. Thethird part introduced several research methods that were used in this research. And the forthpart analyzed the results of the questionnaire research and interview research. The fifth partmade a conclusion on the current situation and concluded the existing problems. Then theauthor analyzed the reasons which caused the problems and put forward correspondingstrategies for resolving these problems. The sixth part was a summary of the whole research.The author reflected the shortcomings of this research, which will be helpful for the futureresearch.
