Teaching is the exchange of teachers and students activities, and the level of professionalism of teachers affects teaching effectiveness. Pedagogical content knowledge is an important indicator of the level of professionalism of teachers.Pedagogical content knowledge refers to teachers based on they already have academic knowledge,using appropriate teaching methods, teaching content to students easily understandable manner demonstrate to students, so that students acquire self-knowledge construction capabilities and methods knowledge. Pedagogical content knowledge of teachers, including subject knowledge, knowledge of students, knowledge of teachers’ organizational strategy and the belief held about their subject. Through the study of physics teachers who have extensive experience, in order to reveal the contents, structure, characteristics and formation process and why of their pedagogical content knowledge. Through the study of a model high X teacher in Xi’an, the use of interviews, observation, literature and other research methods to carry out their research in four areas of teaching beliefs, subject knowledge, knowledge of learner and teaching strategies, trying to explore the pedagogical characteristics and patterns of knowledge. In this study, more attention to classroom teaching process, teachers and students was to investigate the characteristics and laws of physics knowledge in order to provide can learn from the experience of the research and professional growth of teachers teaching physics knowledge.The study found that physics teacher pedagogical content knowledge with the following characteristics:(1) has a firm belief that teaching is the cornerstone of pedagogical content knowledge;(2) has a profound knowledge of physics is the core of the development of pedagogical content knowledge;(3) understanding the students learning difficulties, choosing the right strategy is a necessary condition for promoting the growth of pedagogical content knowledgeDevelopment of teachers’ pedagogical content knowledge of physical strategies include:(1) active, teaching continuing to pursue the development of teaching attitude pedagogical content knowledge plays a very important role;(2) for effective teaching reflection on pedagogical knowledge acquisition have a profound impact;(3) daily teaching activities enrich pedagogical content knowledge is essential;(4) reading and books on physics related pedagogical content knowledge has a rich learning role.Based on the characteristics of physical teachers’ pedagogical content knowledge and the formation of the law, put forward a number of recommendations in early pre-and post teachers to develop their pedagogical knowledge.
