There are many ethnic Chinese in Taunggyi district of Myanmar. The ethnic Chinese children’s major motivation of Chinese learning is to inherit the Chinese culture, so the teaching of Chinese culture is very important to ethnic Chinese in Myanmar. But the author found the Chinese culture’s cognition situation of local ethnic Chinese students not ideal during the teaching.The author made the contrastive analysis about the Chinese culture’s cognition between ethnic Chinese students in DongHua Language&Computer Training Center and students in China, carrying out with questionnaire survey. The language materials are selected from the Chinese textbooks which ethnic Chinese students and Chinese students used.Through the contrastive analysis about the distribution of Chinese culture contents in Chinese textbooks in two places, the author found that the textbooks DongHua Language&Computer Training Center used have less Chinese culture contents, and the contents are disorderly distributed without arraging the contents and the way of display basing on the Chinese culture’cognition degree of students.Through the contrastive analysis about the Chinese culture’s cognition between ethnic Chinese students in DongHua Language&Computer Training Center and students in China, the author found a certain distance in Myanmar’s ethnic Chinese students’ Chinese culture cognition. The investigated Myanmar students’ Chinese culture cognition is worse all in all, the cognitive contents number of Chinese culture is less, the cognition during different kinds of Chinese culture and between each level is unbalanced.Basing on the analysis and the conclusions of investigate and research, the author gave some advises about the teaching of Chinese culture to ethnic Chinese, including adding the contents of Chinese culture both in Chinese textbooks and teaching activities, arranging and showing the Chinese culture according to the degree of difficulty and the level of students.
