This thesis uses the qualitative research method to examine the current situation and influencing factors of material input in cooking activity among preschoolers of four to five years old, and some optimal strategies are put forward.Firstly, in view of the importance of the material of cooking activity, the researcher discusses the characteristics and categories of the material of cooking activity, and probes the value of material for children’s development.Secondly, based on the analysis of the observation data, the researcher finds the current situation of material input in cooking activity among preschoolers of four to five years old is partly reasonable:the amount of material is suitable; the type of materials is appropriate; the material is safe, and the material input is progressive. On the other hand, there are some deficiencies:the category of material is not completed; the proportion of material collocation is not appropriate; the initial processing of material is inappropriate, and the material is contaminated in the process of materials input.Thirdly, on the basis of analyzing the current situation of material input in cooking activity, the researcher explores the influencing factors of material input as follow. The kindergarten is the indirect influencing factor, and the teacher is the direct influencing factor. Furthermore, as an important facilitator of material input in cooking activity, parents affects the materials input to some extent.Finally, according to the analysis of influencing factors, the researcher puts forward a set of strategies to offer some reference:the kindergarten should be the effective supporter of material input; the teacher should be the scientific policymaker of material input, and parents should be the reasonable facilitator of material input.
