Nowadays, reading textbooks play an important role in language teaching in primary schools. While PEP Edition and Jiangsu Edition are two of the most popular and widely used among them, so making a comparative study between these two editions would provide a significant reference value to upgrade their education function in teaching.In terms of writing principles, layout style, and innovative direction, this paper carries on a profound comparative study by comprehensively making macro and micro analysis, closely combining theory and practice.First of all, through effective data analysis, good example presentation, detailed literature explanation and scientific practice exploration, this paper elaborates the writing principles of reading materials and the differences and similarities of layout style based on unit combination, analyses the difference between structural and non-structural thematic units.Secondly, by comparing the text system, help-reading systems and exercise system, this paper introduces the presence of advantages and disadvantages in PEP and Jiangsu Edition respectively, develops a new idea to make better use of reading textbooks scientifically, and provides a new way to improve the efficiency of teaching and reading effectively.And lastly, with the consideration of the actual situation, the paper makes some practical analysis of the limitation existing in present mode, proposes some schemes to solve the problem in textbooks and teaching activities, and conducts some meaningful exploration on the reuse and reconstruction of reading textbook in teaching practice. In a word, based on the preliminary result of this paper, students and teachers could make better use of reading textbooks, while researchers could carry out their further work about reading textbook. |
