Chinese Course Standard of Full-time Compulsory Education (RevisedEdition),hereinafter referred to as the New Chines Standard, provided:“Chinescourse should inspire and cultivate student’s love for her homeland’s lunguage,lead students to rich language accumulation, train their sense of language,develop thoughts, make them knowing the richness and breadth of Chineseculture, and absorbing the nation’s cultural wisdom.” This is a clear orientationand guide to our Chine education, and more specific, the education of ancientpoems.Ancient chinese poem is a shining pearl in the treasure house of Chinese artand culture, it is deeply loved by the people and widely read in thousands of yearsbecause of its far-reaching conception, clear and elegant language, vivid image,and multiple technique of expression. As a our national cultural gem, it gives usnot only the influence of beauty in art, but also the inspiration of thought inwisdom, cultivation of taste in disposition. Ancient poem is the song of life,incarnation of beauty, nourishment for the mind that deserves descendants mullover, digest, and reflect. Reading and appreciation of ancient poem should gobeyong simple interpretation of words and clauses, and move into the territory ofesthetics, catch the poem’s image and idea with one’s soul. Strengthening readingof poems, attaching importance to poem education, is very important to theinheriting of the nation’s outstanding cultural heritage, and the cultivatring ofchildren’s good thoughts and sentiment, and literary and artistic accomplishment.Leading by the idea of the New Chines Standard, based on my experience ofdaily teaching, this thesis introduced the content of ancient poetry teaching inprimary school, exemplified with the textbook of new edition, analysed thecurrent state of primary school ancient poetry teaching, elaborated the thesignificance and role of primary school ancient poetry teaching to the cultivatingof students’ humanistic quality, introduced teaching methods of ancient poems in primary school, combined with examples of primary school teaching of ancientpoetry. The teaching methods of Chinese course have been flexible and varied.However, teaching methods have not been settled, it is important to understandthe methodology. Combined with teaching practice, this thesis has raised morethan a dozen methods in the aspects of creating teaching circumstances,expanding scope of reading, enriching method of reading, exploring meaning ofthe textbook, and so on. The aim is to research on how to influence, nurturestudents, and cultivate pupils’ positive view of life and perfect personality withthoughts, values and attitudes of life contained in ancient poems.
