As the interaction of three factors in the period of compulsory English learning, family, school and student have received more and more attention. There is a close relationship between English learning effects and students, teachers and their families. But in reality, what kind of effects will be in these three aspects on the students’ learning are worth explored. Only by understanding the factors affecting the effectiveness of student learning, we can actually help students learning English. This is how to improve students’ English learning effect without increasing extra burden in the same time.Questionnaire survey was carried out in this study in a primary school of Xi’an of third grade in153students, we especially talked to the3who were English honors and another3were not, to make a survey of main factors that effect pupils’ English learning, the results are as follows:Family background. The cultural degree of parents’, expectations on their children’ English learning, participation on English learning, method of family education will influence the English achievement of students. Pupils English achievements are positively effected by the level of education degree of parents, the expectation, and the degree of participation. The career style of parents has no effect on the pupils’ English achievements. Students themselves. Students’interests of learning, learning attitude, and the anxiety in the classroom have a significant impact on English learning. Higher interests, active attitude, positive classroom emotional stability, will positively effect the English achievements. But Learning motivation has no obvious impact on the English achievement of students. Schools’ education mode. The participation of foreign teachers in English learning, and the relationship between teachers and students have a certain influence on English achievement. Using language labs has no effect on the elementary student’s English achievement.In order to help students to improve English study, this study put forward some improvement measures:perfect family study environment, to create a "learning family"; make the teaching method to be more scientific, and the expectation degree more rational; try to stimulate English learning motivation, and enhance interest in learning English, then gradually form a special style of English learning, at the same time, get up on the right attitude in English study, finally establish the harmonious relationship between teachers and students, establish and perfect a happy English classroom, and make full use of school resources, carry out colorful extracurricular activities.
