With the development of society, more and more contradictions have already become apparent. The problem needs people to consider more. A news with the title A headmaster of primary school in Wan Ning gave money to made young girls slept with him published in May12,2013. There are strongly reflections among common people and public opinion pushes the topic child sex abuse to the point where the going is toughest. The under-the-table deal has come out into the open though media report. Similar scandals constantly appears on the newspapers and websites. The spurt of the similar news sounded the alarm for us. We have to attach great importance to these matters and find workable methods. At the same time, the Cleveland kidnapper shocked the whole America, and we all realized that child sex abuse is the common topic. This paper has chosen the mainstream media like the New York Times、USA Today and the Southern Metropolis Daily、the Beijing News、Beijing Youth Daily and so on. Comparing the difference between Chinese reports and American stories, we can improve the standard of reporting.External conditions have far reaching influence on mass media, and there exists different forms of expression on the similar subject matter. This paper focuses on case study, and takes Chinese and American medium reports about child sex abuse as the example. In this paper, I applied positivism method, and did some quantitative research and qualitative research.This paper is aiming to find out differences and similarities between Chinese and western reports on child sex abuse. I sincerely hope that this paper could contribute something to Chinese academic research on domestic medium’s reports on child sex abuse.
