The core of higher vocational education is curriculum, and physicaleducation is one of them. The physical education in higher vocational college is not only realize the curriculum concept, that is health comes first, promoting students overall development and Cultivating the students’consciousness of lifelong sports, but also we should pay attention to theconnection between sports and students’ future occupation developmentneeds and to make contribution to cultivate " quasi-professional person".What’s more, this is the so-called "occupation sports utility", To promote the overall development of students is the core concept of education in China. To propose the concept require us to transform the teaching evaluation from Screening and selection to student’s overall development.It is fundamentally change the evaluation dimensions from the original single evaluation to comprehensive evaluation, from the skills of index assessment to focus on knowledge, skills, process and methods. Performance assessment concept coincide with the education concept in our country.Performance assessment could compensate the shortage of traditional assessment and it could evaluate of the overall quality of students in a more real way, it also can produce good results in Higher Vocational Practical Physical Education Teaching. The study take the practical vocational teaching of physical education in Yunnan mechanical and electrical professional technology college for example, by using documentation method, questionnaire survey, Experimental teaching method, and mathematicalstatistics method. Through the experimental class and the control classsetting, applying the performance evaluation in the experimental class and conventional evaluation in control class in one semester, then Compareand analyze the result, we come to the conclusion:(1) The effect is not significant in the figure of students by using performance assessment.(2) The function improvement of students in both class have no signifi cant differences.(3) The improvement of flexibility and strength qualityin experimental class is obvious, but the improvement of Speed and endurance are not obvious.(4) Performance evaluation plays a guiding rolefor the students in the experimental class of positive psychological indicators of sports learning motivation, learning interest, learning attitude, affective performance and the spirit of cooperation.(5) Students in the experimental class master more sports skills and professional skills than the control class students.(6) The satisfaction of students in the experimentalclass about the current physical education learning evaluation mode andmethod are better than the control class students. Through the analysisof the above results, we propose the following suggestions:(1) Paying attention to the diversification of evaluation subject.(2) Paying attention to the utility of evaluation content.(3) Strengthen the organization and supervision of the evaluation process.(4) The teaching design should be combined with the characteristics of vocational skills closely.(5) Giving full play of the advantages of performance assessment.
