There are in the teaching chemical in middle school a typical problem, whichinvolves the hardship that both teachers and students are going through now. Howto get rid of this situation and make teaching and learning more efficient? Currently,middle school teaching has long been bound by traditional views of teaching and thepressure of entrance examination. Thus, more importance is attached to knowledgerather than skills, memorizing rather than comprehending, imitating rather thancreating.This essay aims to research on the ways of effective classroom teaching by applyingsome basic theories of modern pedagogy and educational psychology. After referringto the connected documents and, in return, getting a full understanding of the concepof effective teaching, the writer finally succeed in choosing the suitable ways ofresearching. Through the analysis on ineffective and low effective teaching, theresearch on six patterns of chemistry class including: elements and compounds,chemical concept and theory, chemical calculation, experiment teaching and reviewlessons and comments lessons, the essay aims to find some methods to improve theeffiency in class and finally set a model for effective teaching.This thesis, in all four main parts, discusses from theoretical angle and practicalangle how to crease the efficiency of teaching.The first part of the essay explains the reason for the choosing of the specific topicand the significance of the research. It also includes a survey carried out in thewriter’s own class and the analysis on the results in order to exhibit the significanceof the research. The second part is the overview of the trend of domestic andinternational research on effective teaching and effective teaching theory. The thirdpart puts forward some solutions. The fourth part shows the effects of specificteaching methods on the reflection of the results of the survey.
