With the emergence and evolution of the market economy, education has becomea kind of "quasi-public goods," the formation of the education market already is atrend of the times. In China, with the scale of higher education expansion anddiversification of means of education, higher education and gradually entered thepopular era. Higher Education adopted a market-oriented development to some extentmeasures. Education market is conducive to promote the formation become popularand universal education, and improve the overall level of quality of education, andtheir formation is the inevitable outcome of the development of the market economy.Development and growth of private universities is education market is an inevitableresult.Private Higher Education is an important cause of higher education as an integralpart of professional training for the country shoulder the historic mission of skilledpersonnel. Development of Private University has twenty years time. From the early1990s, China’s private higher education started from scratch, from weak to strong,and made brilliant achievements. All kinds of private universities have sprung up, butstill faces some serious problems. A combination of private universities in Tianjininterview survey, it can be concluded: In the education market, compared to publicuniversities, private universities are currently facing a series of difficulties. The mainpractical problems they encounter are: lack of a fair starting point for education, suchas social status, the absence of policy support, academic inferiority; lack of a fairprocess of education, the education market dominant position of respect underdog;lack of equitable educational outcomes, such as the private college students poor,their educational philosophy, educational practice and management system to stillinadequate. In short, private colleges and universities in the education market in theabsence of a clear dominant position, leading private colleges and universities in theeducation market competition, public universities unable to obtain the same status asfair, significantly affect the development prospects of private colleges.At this stage in an increasingly competitive education market, public universitiesand private colleges and universities in the competition between students, faculty, research projects, etc. in a fierce competition. Whether in the fierce competitionto maintain a comparative advantage, it relates to private colleges teaching quality,school reputation, and even life and death. Private Colleges in social status, policystatus, academic status, educational status and the status of the market are at adisadvantage, therefore, private college education for sustainable development to takemarket development strategy. Private colleges and universities have to fight tobecome the main market to enhance its competitiveness, we must improve the qualityof enrollment, improving teaching subjects, optimize campus management, improvecampus culture taste. Furthermore, the Government should also private colleges anduniversities to participate in market competition to improve legal environment forsupport, such as raising the social status of private colleges and universities, for afavorable position in educational policy and financial support, and more. Thus,private colleges and universities are able to get the education market dominantposition, with the public universities to provide fair competition, and jointly promotethe development of education in China.
