Research On The Sustainable Development Of Private Colleges Based On The Perspective Of Sustainable Competitive Advantage Theory

According to sustainable competitive advantage theory, the sustainable development achieved by an enterprise basically presupposes its own sustainable competitive advantage, and the core and fundamentality of the research on enterprise sustainable development lies in probing into its own sustainable competitive advantage. In view of the similarity between private colleges and university and enterprises, this thesis explores the introduction of sustainable competitive advantage theory into private colleges and universities, research the sustainable development of private colleges and universities from a new perspective, constructs the dynamic system model for the sustainable competitive advantages of private colleges and universities, establishes the index system for the sustainable competitive advantages of private colleges and universities based on this model and put forward the sustainable strategies for private colleges and universities.The main working and research achievements of this thesis are as follows:1. The sustainable development of private colleges and universities is analyzed and summarized from two aspects(reality and theory). Firstly, relevant domestic and foreign documents are deeply categorized and summarized from three aspects(current situation of private higher education research, overview of higher education sustainable development research and current situation of private colleges and universities sustainable development research) to provide a train of thought and theoretical support for the further research on the sustainable development of private colleges and universities. Secondly, the development process of private colleges and universities since reform and opening up is combed and the accomplishments and flaws of private colleges and universities within this process are analyzed.2. Based on imitating enterprise sustainable competitive advantage theory and analyzing private colleges and universities as enterprises, the dynamic system model for sustainable competitive advantages of private colleges and universities is constructed.The formation mechanism of the sustainable competitive advantages of private colleges and universities are explored and connotations of all the factors within this model, their influence on sustainable competitive advantage and the coupling relationship between them are deeply interpreted and analyzed.3. Based on the dynamic system model for the sustainable competitive advantages of private colleges and universities, the index system for the sustainable competitiveadvantages of private colleges and universities is established by Delphi Method and 12 private colleges or universities within Shandong Province(including 4 of them pinpointed for case study) are chosen for quantitative analysis to verify the rationality and applicability of the index system.4. The theoretical model is applied to solving the practical issues of sustainable development and comprehensive, systematic and three-dimensional strategies are proposed to sustain the competitive advantages of private colleges and universities with the realization of sustainable development, targeted at eleven factors and led by three modules(basic platform, motive force for transition and route for transition) within the model.
