With the rapid development of computer and network technology in the21century,information technology has entered many areas of people’s social life. Particularly inthe education sector, information technology has been set up as a special subject inprimary and secondary schools. The curriculum for information technology is aneffective way for students to improve information literacy, and foster innovative andpractical ability. But as a new subject, the teaching contents and teaching methods arestill at the exploratory stage. With the advocacy and implementation of newcurriculum, teachers and IT experts are exploring and trying a variety of teachingmethods and approaches in primary and secondary schools. This paper focuses on ‘guiding-discovery’ instructional design model, and tries toexplore the details based on image processing of information technology in secondaryschool IT teaching. The paper includes five chapters. The first chapter is introduction, and it contains a comprehensive exposition of theresearch background, meaning, content, methods and literature review. The second chapter is outline of ‘guiding-discovery’ teaching methods, and itelaborates ‘guiding-discovery’ teaching theories, specific theoretical basis, characteristics and principles. The third chapter introduces stage and model of ‘guiding-discovery’ teachingmethods, It proposed the instructional teaching model and provided the deep analysisof the model. The fourth chapter is implementation and analysis of ‘guiding-discovery’ teachingmethod. In this chapter, the real scenarios were explained further and teaching relateddata were analyzed and summarized to the previous chapter mode. The fifth chapter is summary and reflection of the study, and it summarizes theresearch process and problems in order to obtain further improvement.Literature review, survey, interview, and experiences summary are adopted as mainresearch methods in this paper. Students from four classes of Grade Two are surveyedin the research. Through the relevant test results of the questionnaire and the analysisof the data, the experimental results has showed the applicability, effectiveness in‘guiding-discovery" teaching mode in image processing. It also reflects the way inpromoting the role of student learning, not only help broaden the students ’knowledge, but also conducive to the cultivation of students’ learning habits. It also promotes teachers and students to achieve common progress to improve classroom efficiency. The researcher hopes that the research result can be applied in the work and can beimproved further in this basis and make it more suitable for everyday teaching.
