Multimedia teaching has a large amount of information, feedback quickly, rich in content, interactive efficiency higher advantages, multimedia teaching can also improve the students’ interest in learning, inspire students’ thirst for knowledge, to help students improve their study efficiency, thus to cultivate students’ ability of autonomous learning. As modern PE teachers, should keep pace with The Times, to master modern science and technology such as multimedia, combined with the previous traditional sports teaching, better service the students’ sports teaching work. The students are very like sports, basketball is to conduct more extensive sports, it also become the main content of sports teaching. But the traditional sports teaching method just by the movements of the PE teacher’s explanation and demonstration, and then the student to carry on the imitation, lack of interesting teaching methods make students’ learning interest and enthusiasm serious decline, seriously affect the function of the nature of sports. The extensive development of multimedia technology, make up for the deficiency of the traditional sports teaching, brought new opportunities and challenges for sports teaching.In this paper, using literature method, observation method, interview method, experimental method, questionnaire survey, mathematical statistics and other research methods, through the multimedia technology and the technique of basketball jumper action organic combination, can enrich the teaching quality of basketball teaching. This subject mainly research the basketball jumper the technical requirement of techniques and the application status of modern multimedia technology in sports teaching method, is put forward in accordance with the modern multimedia teaching method in the teaching of basketball sports, and its application to modern sports teaching in the classroom. Through the freshman student in zhengzhou university in the common course for the sports six weeks of experiment research, through the experimental group and control group of students in basketball jumper technology comparative analysis of the corresponding conclusion, for the application of multimedia teaching in physical education teaching to provide certain theoretical reference. In the basketball jumper in the degree of technique learning, multimedia teaching method has obvious advantage than the traditional teaching methods. 4.
