This research is based on ‘middle school science instructional design’, one of the shared lessons of national teacher education project quality teaching plans. It aims to enhance instructional design theory, strengthen instructional design skills, raise the instructional standards, and improve teaching practice. Through literature, research, mathematical statistics, as well as lessons learned from method research, we come to the findings that few normal universities develop science instructional design courses and relevant independent teaching materials; some normal universities offer courses like ‘Science teaching theory’, briefly covering instructional design without details on instructional design theory and training about instructional design practice. There are few references about instructional design, and only three of them with regard to middle school science instructional design. All of the three references aren’t offered to sell. So it is of great importance to have curriculum reform and improve the middle school science curriculum instructional design and teaching compilation is the great part in curriculum reform.We provide background information and the theoretical basis for study by sorting out the literature on the teaching material of domestic and foreign literature. we provide the theoretical basis for curriculum compilation in applying the theory of constructivism, and all kinds of education theory and education concept, which help to establish the value orientation for the development of textbook compilation and content selection principle. According to the textbook’s position and application of teaching material: we find that the middle school science text compilation should be conducted by a joint cooperation between university professor and middle school science teachers, which absorbs the essence and development trend of international ID theory, and embodies the new level of the development of the domestic instructional design. Instructional design text book are compiled and organized in the form of task-driven, combining task-driven teaching method with practice instructional design, thus binding theory and practice together and considering both students’ learning characteristics and cognitive process, and aims to become the quality teaching material.According to the principles of textbook construction, we put forward five requirements: teaching materials should meet the needs of users, combine teaching theory and teaching practice, focus on developing students’ ability, include typical instructional design case with specific analysis, and develop teaching materials with organic combination of three-dimensional. Textbook compilation aims to improve the ability of instructional design, to promote students’ individual development. Textbook compilation reflects the modern education teaching theory, instructional design theory, the new system, perspective, and creative content.To solve the problems on teaching material compiling, we put forward the following three suggestions: strengthen the communication with colleges and universities, strengthen the communication with frontline teachers and creative development. We combine what we thought with the teaching suggestions put forward by "middle school science instructional design". We learn from previous research analysis summary, deepen the text compilation theory, summarize international trend of instructional design textbook, and put forward prospect the development direction of this research, provide reference for the compilation of other scientific education teaching material.This paper mainly studies on how to compile advanced and instructional teaching material, improve the science education major students’ ability of writing instructional design, provide reference to first line science education teachers, achieve a standard course teaching content, replenish instructional design related textbooks on market, and improve high quality of the teaching team, promote the exchange and sharing of education resources in colleges and universities.
