Bicycle Riding Culture Research

Bicycle is widely used as a foreign thing profoundly changed the Chinese society in hundred years, it was a rich man’s toys, was also a poor man life support. It used to be regarded as "exotic curiosity-a solution looking", also is seen as a civilized unit. The state council released the first automobile industrial policy in 1994. Since then, in each family was gradually replaced the bicycles. However, China is still worthy of the name "bicycle kingdom". With China "kingdom of bicycles" in sharp contrast to the Chinese cycling culture almost neglected, just like an academic blank. Based on this reason, this study attempts to clarify the cultural transformation of modern bicycle, in order to help to the development of cycling culture.This research uses the literature method and expert interview. On the one hand, to look for with modem cycling related historical data, to maximize the reduction of cycling history. On the other hand, it is positive to talk with cycling enthusiasts, repair man and salesmen. Findings are as follows:1. Cycling culture characterized by: Implements "born", "appropriate" in spirit, from feudal ethical principles to public power system under the new order, behavior from individual cycling extends to the national glory in modern China.2. In modern China, folk artists and jockey’s, professional cycling, pu yi’s "political" cycling, bus group post group cycling, women recreational cycling, hao-hua he Olympic cycling and Pan Deming tourist ride presented the thought of livelihoods, blow away the cobwebs, relaxation, do STH unconventional or unorthodox, win honor for our country, global risk, etc.3. "China" in short supply, need by buying a car in the early days after foundation. People can’t afford to buy the vehicle, "save" it reached its zenith. Bicycle on the road traffic is like now of motor vehicles need to follow specific rules. Both in the countryside, and in cities, bicycles are "miraculous", is still "a car is multi-purpose".4. The bicycle from "shortage" to the "rich", feelings of bicycle for people from "desire" to "love", cycling also started from "pass" to "donkey", the government for riding attitude from "regulation" to the "service" after the reform and opening up.5. The carrier has become increasingly diverse, increasingly shrinking, such as seasonal changes gradually into a rhythm development trend.6. China’s cycling again prosperity is the transforming of the public traffic psychology.
