The Research On Spatial Behavior Of Leisure Bicycle Riding Based On The Analysis Of Moving Track Emerging From APP

The bicycle has a history of more than 200 years since its immature emerging.From the birth date,there is a close connection between bicycle and the upper ten's leisure,sports,entertainment,as well as tourism.Although the phenomenon of leisure bicycle riding emerged early,the academical research was not conducted until the 1970 s to 1980 s.The global oil crisis broke out in the 1970 s,which lead to the resurging and positive development of bicycle leisure.Effected by the idea of sustainable development,the bicycle leisure and tourism revived among some westren Europe and America countries.The abroad research topics are as followed:(1)the definition of bicycle tourism;(2)the research about supply side of bicycle tourism;(3)the behavior characteristics of bicycle tourist;(4)the types of bicycle tourism;(5)the impact of bicycle tourism;and(6)the system of bicycle tourism.The China's bicycle-related research,however,began at the 1980 s.The year of 2008 is a turning point,since which the number of literature sharply rose,and the scholars started to pay close attention to the perspective of bicycle tourism.Our Chinese research mainly focus on the following items: the significance of bicycle tourism and the development status of bicycle tourism.Besides,a number of researches conduct investigations aiming at given case and specific groups,coming up with some macroscopical suggestions and advices.From 2009,foreign researches had applied smart phones application(i.e.,app)to collect the data of cycling itinerary route,further analysing the characteristics of cycling and itinerary route.Chinese scholars give a early insight to the relation between bicycling and social network,and content analysis is applied to the bicycle-themed network text,uncover the description of cycling characteristics.This research begin with the early phenomenon of leisure bicycle riding,then review the domestic and overseas bicycle-themed literature,giving the definition of leisure bicycle riding on the basis of leisure and spatial patterns of behavior theory;next,collect bicycle-themed news and shared riding sport itinerary route emerged form bicycle riding app,via software,like Excel,SPSS 21,Google Earth,GIS Office,aiming at acquiring spatial behavior characteristics of leisure bicycle riding.In this research,the main conclusions are as follows:(1)the definition of leisure bicycle riding: the leisure bicycle riding is a kind of activity that the riders who mainly acquire riding experience actively participate in during their leisure time,which is non-working and out of competition,and leisure,recreation,tourism and sports are the main purpose;the riding may occur in local or somewhere beyond the conventional residence,and one-day tour and holiday bicycle riding are all included.(2)the behavior characteristics of leisure bicycle riding: riders who cycling solo account for 25 percent,while those who aren't solo account for 75 percent;among riders who cycling solo,the male is the overwhelming majority;among those who aren't solo,the group consist of 2 to 10 is majority.Regarding to the preference of cycling itinerary route,the representative choices includes types of highways(e.g.,the National road,the Provincial road,and the Urban road),besides,the greenway,the road constructed for bicycle use,scenic areas,parks,island cycling road(e.g.,Hainan province,Taiwan province,the Qinghai lake),and the waterfront road are also the preferred sites.As for the purpose of riding,cycling out of propaganda and public good accounts for the majority,next is the organized festival and events;out of the purpose of egothemed and experiencing the outside make up the minority;the item of else includes romance,something related to marriage,broaden knowledge,outdoor activities,fitness,relax,and photography.(3)the spatial patterns of leisure bicycle riding: this research comes up with 8 types of cluster,that is,the direct,the loop,the open-jaw loop,the point-spoke,the spoke-loop,the double loop,the string of beads,and the combination of the point-spoke and the loop.The type of the direct accounts for the majority.
