Based on the inheritance and promotion of Chinese Classical Poetry and Traditional Ballad,Modern Poetry is a new free-form poetry originated from the May4th New Culture Movement,which uses vernacular Chinese to reflect new life, express new ideas. It has a unique way ofthinking in literary named” express in a sidelong way”, which has precise language, tunefulrhythm, exuberant emotions, deep implication and peculiar effects. All these features makes theartistic form of Modern Poetry noble and perfect as well as being unthinkable and unspeakable.As a result, Modern Poetry has an important effect on the students who are still in their poeticage. However, affected by the current education which emphasizes more exam results thaneducation itself, the present educational situation of Modern Poetry is not optimistic. A lot ofproblems still exist, such as, teaching ignore the characteristics of modern poetry, stubborneducation form, diverse education materials, poor interpretation of poetry, lacking ofemotion-building and so on. The inquiry learning arising in the background of new-ageeducation can make students experience things themselves in inquiry, deepen emotions incommunication and build disposition in language interpretation, whose features include beingstudent-centered, emphasizing the dynamic character of students, valuing the action of inquiryabout questions and respecting individual experience. This inquiry teaching plays an importantrole in modern poetry teaching.Based on the above understanding, the author selected three relatively successful modernpoetry inquiry learning cases, through the analysis of teaching cases, he found the commonelements of their teaching in the implementation of inquiry teaching strategy, and then based onthe interpretation of modern poetry. Finally, the author combined the research achievements ofmodern poetry with his own teaching practice inquiry achievements, showing its own"zaibiekangqiao" teaching design, which will embody the research of this thesis. This papermainly from the following parts:The first part goes from the analysis of contact between the inquiry learning and modern poetry. Mainly include the teaching present situation of inquiry learning theory, modern poetry reviewand inquiry learning on the important significance of modern poetry. Through the analysis,exploratory teaching can make the poetry itself can be fully reflected; inquiry learning isbeneficial to students in-depth poetry situation; development of inquiry teaching is beneficial tostudents’ reading appreciation ability; inquiry learning will make the students really love poetry.The second part, the analysis of the three successful modern poetry inquiry teachingcase.Including the selection and introduction, case teaching design and process, as well as thespecific case analysis. Through the analysis of three cases, we found out that they have manycommon elements in the aspects of design, teaching organization and implementation. This partis the main body of the research.The third part, combined with the above case teaching of inquiry learning strategies on ModernPoetry Interpretation, mainly from the teachers how to prepare lessons, design inquiry activitiesand problems, three aspects of the implementation of the principles of modern poetry inquirylearning to analyze. These three aspects should be considered to stimulate interest in learning ofstudents, pay attention to students "found poetry" is the key and in poetry teaching extension etc.The fourth part is the basic research on the above analysis, according to the teaching practice ofthe author during practice, presents the teaching design and the narrative “zaibiekangqiao”, takeit as the outcomes of the research of the Paper.
