| The new biology curriculum of high school proposed that curriculum should "help studentsunderstand the relationship between biological science, technology and society, and enhancestudents’ physical and social responsibility, to promote students to form a correct world outlookand values". The basic content of STSE education is to closely combine the scientific knowledgeand technology, society and environment. To carry out STSE education effectively, teachers bycarefully analyzing the content of textbooks, STSE education presentation and linkages betweendifferent contents must apply reasonable teaching strategies to convert knowledge in textbooksinto vivid context and examples aiming at the confusion that may arise in the students learningprocess, which will surly promote the achievement of the expectation of the class and raisestudent academic accomplishment. The research of this article focuses on Countermeasures ofthe deletion of STSE education in high school biology textbooks in order to discover andimprove deficiencies of STSE education in high school biology textbooks and provide strategiesand approaches to teachers to achieve the purpose of improving high school biology teachingand truly enhance student accomplishment.This thesis launches discussions in ten parts.The first three parts of this paper discusses the necessity of the research is expounded fromfour aspects that are improvement of students scientific accomplishment, teachers need toachieve professional growth, meet the needs of biology characteristics, and the requirements offour new curriculum reform and development. The researching status in and abroad is mainlyanalyzed and research directions are also proposed accordingly.The third part focuses on the goal,ideas and methods of the study.The fourth part is the theoretical basis of the study which presents the theoretical support ofSTSE education evaluation of textbook content-Constructivism Theory.The high school biologytextbooks, STS education, STSE education will be defined in the fifth part.The sixth part is about the status of STSE education in high school biology textbooks.Thereasons for the lack of STSE education in textbooks and teaching contents will be analyzed indetails.The seventh part is STSE Education Strategy. Scientific and reasonable strategies are putforward in textbook compilation and teaching. The Eighth part focuses on the experiments on STSE education. The STSE Education Strategies which are implemented through reasonable means are applied to the actual teaching. Theresults are verified by statistical performance analysis and questionnaires.The main statement of the Ninth part is conclusion. The author insists that STSE education isthe guidelines to achieve students’scientific accomplishment.The lack of STSE education in highschool biology textbooks mainly reflects in both poor quality and insufficiency in numbers. Theimplement of STSE education requires teachers to give the fullest play to their subjective initiatives.The tenth part is about reflection and prospect. |
