Threefold representation is an important approach of chemistry concepts teaching, itcan help students to learn meaningful, balance their cognitive structure’s development.Through analysis of the literature, we found the researchers prefer to study the Threefoldrepresentation with disciplinary perspective but ignoring the important position of learnerfactors. Tetrahedral Chemistry Education, proposed by Professor Mahaffey, the "humanelement" was added. The subject factors, learner factors and social factors are combined. Ithas a vital significance to deepen the teaching practice of Threefold representation.This research reviewed the relevant domestic and based of foreign chemical researchresults of Threefold representation and Tetrahedron Chemistry Education, combined withour teaching and research, consummating the theoretical basis of Tetrahedron ChemistryEducation and initially establishing of the practical system based on the TetrahedronChemistry Education Under the guidance of the TCE model, the teaching was practing. Thepractice results indicated that the model to guide the teaching is effective and feasible forstudents to conduct a meaningful learning positively.The thesis consists of eight parts, the main contents are as follows:Part1, clarifies the reason of selecting this thesis.Part2, summarized the evolution of plane triangle model and Research of TetrahedronChemistry Education. Three levels of chemical learning, as a basis for the theoreticalframework, continue to be researching of new meaning and model. The summary wasmainly dicussing and analysing the other models evolutioning from tetrahedral model,including the Johnstone’s chemistry learning three levels, tetrahedral characterization,Mahaffey’s tetrahedron model, Buck’s T-ZPD chemical education method, Qiu Meihong’sPyramid model, Jesper’s Humanization chemical education. Considering the above severalevolution by the triangle model point of view, has a great help to perfect the TetrahedronChemistry Education.Part3, put forward the purpose and task of research.Part4, based on the tetrahedral chemical education proposed by Mahaffey, combinedwith the domestic research on Threefold representation, improving the theoretical basis ofthe Tetrahedron Chemistry Education: defining the meaning of Tetrahedron Chemistry Education, basic elements, general idea of TCE model of teaching features, teaching designwere analyzed and elaborated.Part5, under the guidance of the TCE model, following the general idea of teachingdesign based on the TCE model, the redox reaction of first class teaching was designed.Part6, the teaching practice, including the object of study, research purpose, researchplan, implementation and results.Part7, the conclusion of the study and suggestions for teaching, research’s resultsshow that TCE model is effective and feasible to guide teaching, meaningful for students’topromote learning. On this basis, three suggestions for teaching was raised.Part8, the problems existing in the research were discussed and proposed.The research on the innovation of the thesis lies in the foreign research results, arelatively new tetrahedral model with the combination of Threefold representation.Threefold representation only discussde from the perspective of disciplines wasovercoming. Threefold representation, learner factors and social factors were combined ina uniform model. And establish a preliminary practice system, which was important toenrich the theoretical study of chemical and practicalvalue to deepen the Threefoldrepresentation.
