| Since the end of the 20th century, the social interaction is more frequent in Uygur Society. In order to meet the various of social needs, the Uygur people gradually formed a folk activity that named "Qatar Chay" which consist of entertainment, mutual funds and mutual aid. During the process of spread, evolution and development, the "Qatar Chay" has gradually become the exclusive of Uygur females. By participating in the "Qatar Chay", Uygur females can use the collective resources to help their own and others. This article attempts to take the urban Uygur females as the respondent and take the "Qatar Chay" as the starting point to study about the Uygur females how to meet the needs in social reaction, and how to use the collective resources to help their own and others. Based on the social surveys of YouSeyuan community in Fukang City, North of Xinjiang, the content includes five parts in this paper:The first part is the introduction, mainly introduced about the origin of the study, the significance of the topic, the related studying achievement at home and abroad(research on females and social civil salvage), research ideas and research methods etc.. To be clear, the paper is based from the perspective of Feminism and Structural Functionalism. The Feminism seeks to explain that gender differences leads females’experience,world outlook and view of life are different with males’ The Structural Functionalism seeks to explain that the folk activity of "Qatar Chay" has the nature of Informal Organization, it is part of the social system and plays various functions on the whole.The second part is the introduction of the survey area. The first content is the overall description of Fukang City, including the origin of history, the geographical environment, the economic background and the composition and distribution of ethnic groups. The second content is a brief introduction of the field of Youseyuan community. The last content is to explain why choose the Fukang City as the survey area, the reasons include the survey area is the combination of urban and rural areas, the survey area is the epitome of industrialization in Xinjiang and the survey area is a multicultural block etc..The third part is a detailed description of "Qatar Chay" which is a folk activity of Uygur people, including origin, spread, operation mechanism, and analysis of natures. The operation mechanism and the analysis of natures of the "Qatar Chay" are the focus of this chapter. Uygur females build network and gather resources in their acquaintance society, and then use them to save their own, others and the public.The fourth part is the functional analysis of the "Qatar Chay". With participating the "Qatar Chay", the members can achieve all kinds of needs that from the low level to the the high, so the folk activity of "Qatar Chay" displayed all kinds of functions.The fifth part is the summary and discussion of this article. The Uygur females’social status has improved, but they are still in the margins of the society, so their social capital is still weak. The folk activity of "Qatar Chay" can bring something helpful for Uygur females, but because of the interaction is just within their own society, the available resources from social network is very limited. |
