The scientific inquiry has reached an unprecedented level in new curriculum reform of junior high school physics in China. Curriculum idea, "from life to physics, from physics to society", is proposed as a guidance of this new curriculum reform. Easily-availability of experiment materials and closeness with daily Life are characteristics of Unconventional Physics Experiments. These friendly characteristics of unconventional physics experiments can bring physics closer to our daily life. Students can feel that they are surrounded by physics, which can enhance their scientific acquiring skills and cultivate their sense of innovation.This study used a method which integrated theoretical with practice. First, through literatures surveying, concepts of unconventional physics experiments are extended;Second, through questionnaire surveying of teachers, investigation and analysis on current situations of unconventional junior high school physics experiment teaching is made;Third, strategies of unconventional junior high school physics experiment teaching is proposed based on constructivist theory.Fourth, an in-depth study on "Physics Curriculum Standards of Full-time Compulsory Education (2011 edition)" and Physics textbooks is conducted. Categorization of unconventional physics experiment in textbooks is made, which can serve as a useful reference for junior high school physics teaching;Fifth, a number of unconventional physics experiment teaching cases are designed based on actual situation in junior high school physics teaching practices. These designed teaching cases are put into practices with good teaching results. Last but not least, on the basis of above studies, some suggestions are given which can further improve the effectiveness of unconventional physics experiment teaching in junior high school.
