Research On The Application Of Virtual Learning Community In Public Elective Course Teaching

Information Technology and Curriculum Integration is an important content of information society education reform. Education’s network-rization and informatization is also the trend of the times. E-Learning is an important means of information society to acquire knowledge and information. Virtual Learning Community gradually highlights the role and status of the teaching and learning in colleges and universities. Public elective course in colleges and universities is an important part of university curriculum system, and the teaching effect influences the students’ all-round development and health growth. But the public elective course, which has its own some characteristics and rules, is different from the professional course. And it exposed some problems needed to be solved urgently in actual teaching.The research chooses the concept and classification of virtual learning community and public elective course. It analyses the difference between public elective courses and professional courses. It also studies the teaching function and the role of virtual learning community. It is necessary to build a virtual learning community for information technical public elective course. The elements of public course and virtual learning community are proposed. Education action research about "Digital Photo Processing" is being revised and the public elective course of virtual learning community should be perfected. In the second operation stage, the teaching effect of the elective course of virtual learning community will be tested.In this study, two Virtual Learning Community through the public elective course teaching stage practice results show that the public elective course teaching in information technology is introduced into the virtual learning community is feasible, can promote learners’ learning, improve learners’ interest, improve the learner’s personal knowledge management ability and the comprehensive application ability; At the same time found in the two stage education action research:a Virtual Learning Community in communication tools should be selected in the actual teaching close to the learners’ life.
