In twenty-first Century, the knowledge in the information explosion era, education and learning has become a keyword. At the same time, the more obvious sense, learn to look for the acquired knowledge is more important than the storage of knowledge, and that in the end what method to use is more conducive to the teachers teach, students learn? The famous psychologist Bruner America "discovery learning" theory, we left a lot of reference. In the actual teaching, for it can make the students have a strong interest in learning, to enable students to actively participate in classroom and highly respected, but also often appear to be inopportune or inappropriate use of "discovery learning" and lead to the low efficiency of learning. In response to this phenomenon, this paper puts forward the educators should according to the characteristics of the teaching content to choose appropriate teaching method.First of all, this article through the literature research method, combing the "found that the evolution of learning" thought development at home and abroad, as well as the "discovery learning theory research", and "found that explains the connotation of learning", such as the basic meaning, types, characteristics and the implementation process. Secondly, in the "discovery learning" theory, combined with the teaching experience, this paper on one hand sorted out three kinds of high school geography knowledge, declarative knowledge, procedural knowledge and strategic knowledge, and analyzes the "discovery teaching contents for learning", mainly procedural knowledge and strategic knowledge; on the other hand, design a procedural and strategic knowledge of two kinds of corresponding teaching strategies, such as the problem of discovery, discovery, the case study show that the image type, the type of teaching strategy, and using the method of case study design four cases corresponding.Finally, through experiment and questionnaire, learning "teaching theory of validity test detected, then draws the conclusion, that the use of "discovery learning" teaching theory can correct students’ learning attitude, and can greatly improve the students’ learning achievement.
