Geography is one of the central subjects which infiltrate the idea of the sustainable development. Of all the subjects, it is the main content of the education about the sustainable development. Almost in every country of the world, the education about the ideas of the sustainable has become an important target in geography. The reform about the curriculum of fundamental education, which is being held in our country nowadays, is a key to the sustainable development. With the further study of the sustainable development, some new achievement, knowledge and ideas arise, and they are needed to be added to the geography in time so that the contents can show their characteristics of the day. The geography teaches the students the basic ideas of the sustainable development, which include not only the idea about population, resources and environment, but also that about population, morality, ecology, value, all-round development, scientific development and so on. To educate the senior students" ideas of the sustainable development in geography, the methods are mainly to learn from the environment, which emphasize the students" participation, leading the education to the pattern which combines with the life and the society. Its connection with the practice should be showed enough in the teaching. The new curriculum recommends a study-style or an exploring-style learning method, and the education about the sustainable development is just one of the sustainable development is just one of the fields to carry out this kind of learning. A Study-style or an exploring- style learning method is a process for the students to find out the matters or problem , to study the issues and to reach a conclusion with the help of teacher. Students should take an active part in the activities for thinking, observing and studying in order to make a judgment all by themselves, and they will also get chance to solve problems and make a discussion. Let them set up the critical spirit and the opinion or thinking of seeking common ground while reserving differences so that they can gain the development of knowledge, skills, feelings and including attitudes. We recommend to use the study- style or exploring- style learning method in Geography studying to advance the idea of the sustainable development education. The matter of the sustainable development is closely connected with the life of students and society. It is not only comprehensive, but also actual. This idea can be developed and improved in the field of the Geography studying. It is very important and valuable to form and develop the students" sense of the sustainable development. Having a far-reaching significance, it will solve many matters in the nature. There are various ways for reflecting and teaching the sustainable development in class, Which are connection with the practical Geography education. Students should be organized to take part in lots of varied and colorful activities after class, including the local geography conditions andthe geography activities. Of course, the students will achieve their goals, and the sense of the world's sustainable development through the action of the local geography activities.
