The thesis is based on the column of "Mathematics Activities" from the textbook of junior high schools printed by Jiangsu Science and Technology Publishing House. This paper researches the value of teaching, the status of teaching and the advice of teaching by the methods of literature review, questionnaires, interview, case analysis and so on. Base on this, I hope to draw teachers’ attention and thinking of "Mathematics Activities"column which can be carried out more in the class.Based on the research, the author finds that the value of "Mathematics Activities" column lies in that the arrangement holds the idea of "Compulsory Education Mathematics Curriculum Standard "and it strengthens the content of "Comprehensive and practice" part. It provides students with more chance of "doing" Maths.According to the research of the status of "Mathematics Activities", the writer draws the conclusion as follows:First, the attitude to the recognition. Most Maths teachers hold that it’s necessary to put "Mathematics Activities" into practice. However, they don’t think there is strong operability and they lack the confidence in having a better Maths lesson.Second, the situation of carrying out actually. The majority of teachers have "Mathematics Activities" teaching for several times, but the approach of teaching is single. Besides the limitation of multiple choices is large. The evaluation methods mainly focus on whether students’interest in Maths is improved. Moreover, the main force of teaching comes from "The development of students".Third, the difficulties in teaching. The difficulty mainly results from the limited time of students and the limitation of teachers themselves. So support should be given that the direction of proposition in senior high school entrance examination should be improved; the time of Maths lesson should be increased; the relevant content of training should be strengthened and the good teaching reference and guide books should be provided.Throughout the research of status, the author gives two pieces of advice, including writting optimized materials and improving teaching methods. The later comes from the author’s integration of teaching designs, teaching models and teaching forms which strives to make the teaching of "Mathematics Activities" more operable.
