With the development of China higher education, the university’s presidents havereceived extensive attention of scholars. The discussion on the growing problem ofuniversity’s presidents has become increasingly fierce. As the leader of the school, thepresident’s role is irreplaceable. But now the growth of the university’s presidentshave a lot of problems. The growth environment of the university’s presidentsbecoming more and more complicated. Therefore, I believe that the university’spresidents should move to the educator. This is also the need of the era. Exploring thegrowth rules of the educator-type presidents would have a huge impact. There weremany famous university’s presidents in China’s modern education history. Theyconsistently stick to their ideals of education in diiffcult social conditions. They havemade a significant contirbution for the development of the higher education in China.They are veritable educator-type presidents. Mei Yiqi is an outstanding representativeamong them.The educator-type presidents are an outstanding group of the university’spresidents. What kind of characteristics do they have? What’s the growth rules of theeducator-type presidents? Can the study on the growth rules of the educator-typepresidents birng enlightenment to the present university’s presidents? The growth ofany individual is not easy, and the educator-type presidents are no exception. Theprevious studies have mainly concentrated on the educator-type presidents’ concept,growing environment and organizational training. This paper takes a historical look atthe educator-type presidents. My article exploring the growth rules of theeducator-type presidents by analyzing the growth characteristics of Mei Yiqi. He wasa very famous educator-type presidents in China’s modern education history. I alsowant to find explore the influence factors of the educator-type presidents by drawingfrom the other outstanding educator-type presidents in history,and analyzes the rolesand qualities of the educator-type presidents. Thus revealing the growth rules of theeducator-type presidents. I hope my research can bring enlightenment to the presenteducator-type presidents. This is also the purpose of my research. In this study, I adopt literature research to collect a number of relevant documents. This article will take the"lifelong president" of Tsing-Hua UniversityMei Yiqi for example to exploringthe growth rules of the educator-type presidents by learning from previous researchesand some historical documents.Accordingly, this paper is divided into the following sections. The introductionsection introduces the significance of the research and analyzes the recent researchstatus of the educator-type presidents. Thus laid a theoretical foundation for the backof the paper. The first chapter exploirng the growth characteristics of Mei Yiqi bystudying his growth process. The finding by analysis is that the growth characteristicsof Mei Yiqi including the advanced school idea,the down-to-earth spirit of hard work,the democratic leadership style, the unique personal charm,the love and dedication toeducation undertakings. The second chapter introducing the influence factors of theeducator-type presidents. The influence factors of the educator-type presidentsincluding the external factors and the internal factors. The external factors includingthe pirncipal’s educational background and professional background, the institutionalenvironment, social environment, family environment and work environment. Theinternal factors incl’uding the principals educational ideas, leadership skills andpersonal charisma. The third chapter introducing the basic qualities of theeducator-type presidents. The basic qualities of the educator-type presidents includingthe moral qualities, knowledge qualities,competency qualities and mental qualities.The third chapter also summarizes the characteirstics of the role of the educator-typepresidents. The fourth chapter summarizes the growth rules of the educator-typepresidents on the basis of the first three chapters. The fourth chapter including thepremise of the educator-type presidents’ growth, the condition of the educator-typepresidents’ growth, the foundation of the educator-type presidents’ growth and thesecurity of the educator-type presidents’ growth.
