Function not only is an important content of high school mathematics,but also is the most important content of the whole math course list.It not only is one of the main lines of high school mathematics learning,but also throughout the mathematics content it is one of the most important lines.In many years,test questions about the function of the university entrance exams is always the most common and important.In addition,the function is closely related to other contents, such as equation, inequality, derivative, limit and so on.And knowledge of function is the foundation of higher mathematics content such as the set theory,functional analysis, Ordinary differential equation and partial differential equation.So the research of teaching of high school function is necessary and important.Because of the diversity of the function content, the importance of test questions about the function of the university entrance exam, and the complexity of its links with the other mathematics knowledge, teaching of the function is not only he important content in the high school math teaching, but also the difficult content in the high school math teaching.This paper mainly adopts literature research,and I learn and draw lessons from a large number of books and articles about teaching of the function,then from many aspects I write this paper according to my own perception and experience of education practice.First, this paper discusses background of the function from the origin and development of function.Then,this paper discusses teaching methods of the concept and nature of the function itself.Then this paper discusses the relationship between function and other contents of mathematics from the Angle of function,and gives the corresponding exercises,to let the reader realize the function is interwoven and unable to be separated with other content.Finally, the author combined with cognition and experience of own education practice gives some advice and opinion about teaching of high school function.Strengthen the teaching of high school function not only can cater to the actual demand urgently of improving their scores,but also effectively promote students’ understanding and grasp of the function and the entire mathematics contexts from the height of the improving students’ thought and methods of studying mathematics.And it not only can further develop the students’ dialectical logical thinking,but also let the students learn to be more systematic, more comprehensive in thinking.In this way, students can know how to use a mathematical thinking to study mathematics,and they can possess the ability to found,think and solve the problem more quickly and accurately.
