A Study On The Methods Of Ideological And Political Education Of College Students In The Context Of New Media

In China, it is universally believed that education is a behavioral pattern peculiar to human in a specific environment, and so is ideological and political education. Today, new media has left a deep impression on the society in every aspect. Due to the continuous technical development and innovation, new media have permeated every corner of education, which has not only facilitated the ideological and political education of contemporary college students largely, but also presented challenges and opportunities for them. Therefore, for the sake of ideological and political education, there is a need to conduct targeted transformations and innovations in new media era with the purpose of improving the practicality of new media and then guiding the favorable development of the ideological and political education of college students.Firstly, this paper makes a discussion on the connotation and features of new media, insisting that new media are characterized by timeliness, interaction and openness, the focus on integration, and information logicality. However, the analysis on the particular features of new media era places emphasis on information diversity, content richness, source elusiveness, communication anonymity, searching convenience, and diversification of values. Then, the use of new media by contemporary college students is discussed from different angles, such as the prevalence rate, use rate, and use content of the internet, for the sake of a more purposeful argumentation.Secondly, in the context of new media, a comprehensive analysis and study is implemented according to the situation that ideological and political education of college students will face. As a common saying goes, sword has double edges. Opportunity is always accompanied by risk. Viewed from this aspect, the opportunities that new media present for contemporary college students are to expand educational approach, supplement educational contents, raise educational interaction and feasibility, etc. Nevertheless, everything is multifaceted. Besides opportunities for the ideological and political education of college students, new media era has also presented corresponding challenges: new media have facilitated the diversification of college students’ ideology, which has influenced the personality and interpersonal trust of college. In view of this, new media should require the innovations to be implemented on the ideological and political education and make higher demands on the media quality of educators.Thirdly, an analysis is performed from various aspects such as the ideology and the ideological and political education of college students in new media era. It is found that college students have diversified ideological values and show preference for virtual communication, and there are varieties of problems such as the lack of the targeted contents concerning ideological and political education and the outdated education carrier.Finally, according to the problems of present ideological and political education, the strategies concerning how to improve the ideological and political education of contemporary college students in new media era are proposed. It is considered that the education strategies in new media era should be analyzed from subjective and objective perspective, and considered from different standpoints, such as content, carrier, faculty, approach and how to arouse the initiative and enthusiasm of students. Then, on this basis, the new methods and concepts concerning the development and innovation of ideological and political education of contemporary college students in new media environment can be figured out according to corresponding problems.In this paper, the research is aimed at the reality of new media era. Therefore, the discussion is specific, clear and systematic. On the basis of discussion, instead of suppressing the real role of traditional media, this paper keeps up with the times to combine traditional media with new media effectively, which has contributed to the effective and comprehensive use of new media. By this way, the ideological and political education of college students is upgraded to keep the educational cause of China advancing with the times and make the education serve students and the society in a better way.
