The SOLO Taxonomy (structure of the observed learning outcome) which is researched by John Biggs and Collis for a long time is a qualitative evaluation method which derive the reasonable part of Piaget’s Theory on Development of Cognition.Because it is very suitable for our score skill of openness test and realistic need for method delay,it attracts a lot of researchers. This paper goes through the background, theory basis, and main content of SOLO,illustrates its system information. The SOLO Taxonomy is widely used in the evaluation of mathematics,geography,language,history.poetry,science,economics,chemistry.For going with the development of The Times,a new course is opened which is be called Information Technology. In this paper,Because of the superiority of The SOLO Taxonomy in open-ended questions, the SOLO Taxonomy will be applied to evaluate works of information technology in this kind of open-ended questions. The author selected the Word by mixed products and multimedia presentations as the research object. According to The SOLO Taxonomy,we established factor tables of two types of information technology works. We use factor tables in information technology works for SOLO level evaluation. In information technology works, the first four SOLO works have appeared, but works in Extended Abstract has not been found. It suggests that senior thinking ability is not appeared.Based on The SOLO Taxonomy as the guidance, through explicit quantitative information technology works implicit thinking ability of students. This article is a SOLO taxonomy was applied to try an exploration of information technology disciplines, according to the research conclusion is put forward some problems and future research prospects.
