The Campaign of CINE (China Indigenization of New Education) is a National salvation movement in educational field in 1920s. During the process, Chinese scholars dissatisfied with the education situation and criticized it. Furthermore, they all thought that Chinese education needs transforming and they put forward reforming scheme with different features which they have made substantial exploration. All the attempts they made and the experience they got still have reference value and practical significance for today’s Chinese education enterprise.This paper chooses this movement as its research object and in accordance with its developmental sequence. What’s more, it is based on the education exploration of Zhuang Zexuan and deeply reveals the transformation of the key issues and focuses of this movement while reflecting the historical course of the Campaign of CINE. In a word, this paper can be divided into five parts:The introduction part mainly introduces the key concepts, the research value of this theme, overseas and domestic research status, the research methods and so on.The first chapter focuses on the reason why the Campaign of CINE appeared and made an in-depth discussion. What’s more, the author analyzed the dilemma the New Education come across in China, the pluralistic understanding of CINE in educational circles and Zhuang Zexuan’s life experiences and his definition for CINE. Based on those analyses, we can also found some consensus and divergence on the CINE in educational circles.The second chapter discusses the attempts the whole educational circles made to realize the CINE from two aspects- theoretical and practical aspects. During the exploring period, the educational circles preferred transforming the current education which can finally solves the adaptability problem when the western educational mode applied in China. More importantly, Chinese educational circles have gained distinctive achievements not only in theoretical aspect but also in practical aspect in which Mr. Zhuang has made detailed introduction for the reforming scheme on CINE.The third chapter discusses the attempts the educational circles made to establish the New Education with Chinese feature and emphasis on the "turn to" problem of the understanding of CINE in this campaign, that is, the fundamental change from the transformation of CINE to the creation of New Education with Chinese feature. After the whole educational circle recognized that this change is necessary, they all strived for this goal in both theoretical and practical aspects. Among these, there were some representative attempts:Liang Shuming’s rural construction theory, Yan Yangchu’s civilian education theory, Tai Shuangqiu’s people’s livelihood education experiment and so on. In addition, Mr. Zhuang has come up with a unique construction scheme according to the educational sociology system he built himself, and he hopes to save the nation by establishing a New Education system with Chinese feature.The conclusion part summarizes the shortcomings of this campaign and the enlightenment it gives for today’s education in China.
