It is very common for students to make mistakes in study, which are valuable feedbacks in their learning process.Recognizing the full value of the errors, students make it a way to manage personal knowledge, and error management will become an effective way and strategy to learn chemistry and improve the efficiency of students’ studying. When learning a scientific way and steps to manage the errors and sticking to error management systematically during the whole course of our study, it is useful to improve the effectiveness of chemistry teaching.A research has been conducted through questionnaires, interviews and experiments in a senior high school in Shuyang County, Suqian. It is intended to learn about the attitudes senior grade two students take towards error management when preparing for their academic proficiency test. The main conclusions have been drawn as follows. For one thing, almost all the students in senior high school take a positive attitude towards the mistakes they once made and they can realize the importance of error management, so they tend to manage the errors in their own ways in study accordingly. However, they don’t do so well that they still require proper guidance and supervision from teachers. Students have a relatively low level of error management. They often get a bit relaxed in the mind and can’t be consistent. In addition, the way students manage the errors is in a single form and there is not much communication between classmates. For another thing, the error management level of boy students is higher than that of girl students as a whole in senior grade two. Concretely speaking, girls are a bit better than girls in terms of values and attitudes towards error management while boys present to be better than girls in terms of behavior.Besides, during October 2012 to March 2013, selecting school students as sample, I made a study on the experiment while students is divided into the experimental group and control group. And we know the experimental group have got higher scores in the academic proficiency test compared with the control group. The difference can reveal the significance on statistics, which means a greater efficiency in revision and a better result of teaching when the way of error management is adopted. Some relative analysis have been made of the relationship between error management and effective teaching in chemistry according to the research-error management shows a positive correlation with the result of chemistry study to some degree. The difference is of great significance. It can be concluded that there exists a positive correlation between the ability to treat error management and effective teaching in chemistry for students in senior grade two.
