Cooperative learning is one learning model. Through the students’ independent inquiry learning, mutual interaction and teachers’ guidance, group members do some learning tasks together in order to promote positive development on students’ cognition, emotion and attitude of study. Studies have shown that cooperative learning has great effect on improving students’ learning interest, creating good atmosphere in class. The researcher combed through researches of cooperative learning and found that most of their researches used quantitative methods; because the practical operation of cooperative learning has a certain uncertainty and complexity, the quantitative method may have some disadvantages.The researcher chooses qualitative method, mainly research the specific operation links and details. The significance of this study is to the study of case itself, the researcher observe the class from the initial period to the relative stability, and start from the specific operation level of cooperative learning. The results of the study have good directivity and practical operability for English teachers in primary school.This thesis is divided into five parts:The first part introduction. It includes why I chose this subject, contents, ideas, methods and literature review about cooperative learning and reading teaching.The second part:the core concepts and theoretical basis. The core concept defines cooperation and cooperative learning; Social interdependence theory, motivation theory and cognitive theory is the theoretical basis of this study.The third part:the research design of cooperative learning in primary school English reading teaching. Mainly introduces the preparation stage, process design and evaluation stages of this study.The fourth part:the process research of higher grades’ cooperative learning in English reading teaching. I observe the initial period of cooperative learning in reading teaching class, and then find some problems and good features. In order to do further research, researcher and the teacher decide to adjust the operating links and details, at last observe the results of stable period of cooperative learning. And in the process of study, we found that these problems are not special problems, many teachers have this kind of problems, so we need to concern these details, in order to help teachers take better cooperative learning practice. In the last part of the analysis, I give the research revelation on the level of reasons.The fifth part:the research conclusion and revelation. The researchers concluded some of the details of the operation problems and researches in the cooperative learning. Researcher think that at the period of the beginning of the cooperation study, it is necessary to pay special attention to the cultivation of team members of the "program"; In the whole process of cooperative learning, we must also pay attention to evaluate the effectiveness of the method. Teachers need to pay attention to the details of every step in the cooperative learning, and teachers and students also need to explore constantly in cooperative learning.
