It has long been practiced that teacher’s comprehensive capability is judged by the extensive knowledge, good education witness and verbal skills. But they ignore the important role of non-verbal behavior in the teaching process. It not only has an affection on effectiveness of education, but also on the shape of students’ emotions, attitudes and values. Teachers’ encouraging look, affirmative smile, and caring hug, will impact student’s mood and emotion. However, in teaching reality, non-verbal behavior is considered an unconscious, behavior. Most of teachers do not recognize the importance of non-verbal behavior and neglect as the delivery vehicle of knowledge-the important role of non-verbal behavior in the classroom teaching process. Therefore, author put a middle school teachers and students in Xinjiang Agricultural zone for the study. Through classroom observation and in-depth interviews, author analysis of the current status quo and the problems of classroom use of non-verbal behavior. Based on this study, author proposed effective strategies to optimize classroom nonverbal behavior.The study is divided into four parts. Chapter 1 Introduction:explains the significance of study of classroom nonverbal behavior, and research at home and abroad of this field, as well as the Methods of this study. The second chapter:interpret the theoretical basis, types and functions of non-verbal behavior of teachers in the classroom. The third chapter:Through classroom observation and in-depth interviews, author analysis of the current status quo and the problems of classroom use of non-verbal behavior. the study found the problem consist of shortage of teachers’ awareness of nonverbal behavior, using solely, negative effect of body movement, and the uncoordinated of non-verbal behavior. These problems can be attributed to teacher’s themselves and external reason. Chapter Ⅳ:presents the principle of using non-verbal behavior of in the classroom, and effective strategies to optimize non-verbal behavior.
